The full conversation, right here. Auto-captions, lightly cleaned, still very much a real human conversation.
General tips or tricks that you share need to that's how your work experience in the US working as a business analist you remember any resources that you leverage to I always keep in mind the audience that I'm going to be like do not use now becom thing they have those six months to potentially anal roles like should they be looking at that type stuff that you develop throughout that journey through this conversation that we having right now what are the skills that you theing from consumer to Creator Welcome to The Ready Set do podcast where we learn from journeys of not experts who are just two steps ahead of us I'm Naman Pand and in this episode my guest is Sohan Sati Sohan is a senior business analyst working out of Chicago
business analyst working out of Chicago and has many years of experience in this field perhaps more importantly soan has been top data visualization voice on LinkedIn multiple times now we discuss what brought him to the US to study business analytics in particular which then dovetails into a discussion on business analysts as a whole going over some critical technology as well as soft skills that can really set you apart in your career as a business analyst as data visualization in particular is a core aspect of most business analyst roles the latter half of this discussion is a deep dive on best practices for the same we go over what makes a good dashboard how to go about making a dashboard when somebody gives you a requirement for the same as well as any tools and technologies that can get you
tools and technologies that can get you really far in this field soan also describes a unique three-step framework that anyone can use while building out dashboards finally we go over how Sohan came to be top voice on LinkedIn and exactly what that entails and top it all off with a brief discussion on generative Ai and its influence with not just data visualization tools but with business analyst roles as a whole this discussion is for anyone who aspires to be a business analyst is a current business analyst or has any interest in building data visuals in keeping with our theme of learning from somebody that's just two steps ahead of us instead of an expert I'd like to emphasize that this discussion centers on sohan's unique experiences as a data analyst and a builder of data visualization dashboards while there are
visualization dashboards while there are plenty of indetail expert resources available online my goal with this episode is simply to get you to a point where you can begin to ass certain for yourself if the business analyst role is right for you and what exactly it entails Oh and before I forget stay tuned until the end of this episode for a weird how the turntables moment where soan becomes host and asks me a question around well you'll have to wait and see this is The Ready Set do podcast and to support it please subscribe to my YouTube channel and now without any further to do my conversation with so welcome and thank you so much for making the NS to L par to sit with me here to need to talk about all the amazing
need to talk about all the amazing things we're going to cover absolutely it's been a pleasure and I really mind stepping out we have a been in the middle of the week which even better I wanted to kind of kick start here by going over really some of the advice that you Shar with in students around the job search the context for that for our minist is that um someone is top data visualization voice and because of that and I'm sure because of his General livingness he has a lot of students naturally reach out asking for recommendations suggestions so yeah my first question to you is what are some general tips or tricks that you share with these students especially in times like like the ones we are in right now which I show youits so hard you keep hearing these horor stories of you know
hearing these horor stories of you know like five applications no inter for absolutely and I feel like that's actually the best question that have started i i a t of questions like for example someone reached out me like just like last week this specific person she applied more than 10,000 job applications and unfortunately was very hard she has good fair enough good profile yeah just to answer that question I would actually want to share how how I so I myself applied for all job applications like a plan of 10 months 11 months and so how I started basically yeah just getting to see what how they were approaching their and just learning their best practices so I could bearing the rest me the cover and just just profile the next thing would be um just to try applying and see how your resume
to try applying and see how your resume and is doing and based upon that like the respons are working for you if it is not definitely something around and that's how I started well like the first couple of months I have after putting like UT was time like iiz okay I need to something and soon enough just like like to who are and just fig out what is the profile I actually the keep on apply uh you realize that okay this is not a short it's not aing maybe not the opportunity that you want but the right opportunity that is you will have it that's really helpful so I really also would like to your call out about the Tex stat and we'll be ding into that Suite of business analyst to and skills in in just a few year but um
and skills in in just a few year but um before we do that I guess I was curious to learn um what is it about grating applications that's actually beneficial so I personally just kind of M started I like I told that you should be doing this it's live I used to do it like one day two days and then it would just like fall off because I was still busy actually doing all the applications that I would miss maybe three or four and then I was like oh I guess it's gone now what resuming from this point so I'm very curious to learn what is it exactly about theing that helps students or really the reason why you that so much absolutely that's a great question first
absolutely that's a great question first and foremost I I think the logical opinion on this one would be that okay you have like a track of the compan that have app to so that maybe you're not applying to the same company over and over again and you are baskets so I guess that the What specifically work for me was just account uh it makes me feel that okay I am like so I I put the left the first so every day I have and I feel okay I I am doing something it doesn't matter like if you getting the result or not like if you putting I love that yeah awesome yeah and I feel like that's that makes a lot of sense in my head because in my mind
of sense in my head because in my mind the way I us to do applications was in terms of time yeah so for me what you're referring to in terms of like you could just filter a date and be like okay such and such Thursday I apply to 58 jobs for me it was um 2 hours on that same THS so really it feels like we just have different ways of getting to that same final output which is you know as said accountability like did i s for 2 hours today me my goal of whatever it can be number it can be time but it doesn't matter as long as you have a you don't
matter as long as you have a you don't keeping yourself or okay so what was it that made you consider a course in business analytics and moves to the SP absolutely well I would say service that start start Journey that because I was start I Bally started noticing that all game of data at the end of the day if I am able to understand my Logistics better I have to do analysis I want to understand if my customers are happy or satisfied with my product I have to do of over there I'm not really that of coding I think it I juster just like but if I want to a life for me I I just talk about data analysis or business analysis would be the skill that I improve all number of years and go back to the side and then St from
go back to the side and then St from there so that's like okay this is but I should do this very hard for it like thankfully whatever EV it could b finally came to to U and really fun time like I was passionate about what I wanted to do not just keeping a year or a couple of years at my mind but just even 10 years ahead of me I decided for a business anal and extremely grateful and super happy working that makes a lot of sense really appreciate that overview can you walk us through um your work experience in the US since you grated just to build a service context for the rest of the questions that are F fall you of this
questions that are F fall you of this segment absolutely um So currently working as a business analyst to you can maybe call it a c business analyst simplified uh working for company called he Service Corporation a great place I would say very employee driven organization where we are working at where I'm working at the most of the people that have work on a dates they have experience of like 25 plus years at least 20 years on an maybe 15 years of the in in that very specific company just speaking about my work now it is highly on the data visualization side um powerbi as a tool is something that I use on a day-to-day basis and really enjoy it like there's like a ton of different business problems like I have to answer with like using powerbi data so my usual day just looks like okay I
so my usual day just looks like okay I get an ask from my manager and it is basically okay the what I some data I have the in front of me I just have to go into the dashboard um make a few changes here and there um if the question or or like the problem that I'm trying to solve is something like I haven't done before there's a t of braing involved figuring out different ways com different formulas and then finally CCH the answer of it but yeah I would say I've been working with them for almost 10 months now and it is Maj like working on datation and those key business questions that can help us take our business forward and before this were you also working the data visualization
you also working the data visualization stuff for was this your job first after graduation uh yeah well I was working definitely but it was again at the very same time involv Market it was like mixed of was was very general that but uh finally working on this job it is exactly like very very n as you can say that um and very highly focused on a very SC visualization so yeah like that's what myal awesome and I know you covered the most critical Tech skills that an analyst should a to have but kind of want to touch on what are some soft skills that also go along way because you can build the greatest dasboard in the world and if you're not able to convey to your you know consumer what exactly is happening on each page that's pretty much I give maybe it's not a waste but you know to even understand
waste but you know to even understand what you have to deliver and you know then go out and build that or if you're working with dedicated developers and you're kind of the middle point between the business and the developer I know those soft skills go really long way because I had to learn or teach myself some on the job so um yeah I know for fact that the there will be many out there especially starting out there and this Journeys that would be really ke to know what are you know some like skills that they can practice around soft skills that allow me to be good at their jobs absolutely I I completely agree with that because um I would say soft skills matter equally if not more in in
skills matter equally if not more in in some context because just to give an example over here when I started in this particular Ro um so I'm working in health insurance it is this huge like the the various terminologies that we use on a day today basis the Heth infrastructure in the United States itself is so diagnosed so I said that I I definitely had to understand the data that I'm working with so for that I personally as a soft skill had to learn to communicate and that to be on both ends I had to communicate what I am what I'm asking for to my manager and at the very same time I had to have the USU understand what he was trying to explain to me and the second thing would be I
to me and the second thing would be I would say stakeholder management as well because at many times you would be involved in like with non- technical stakeholders so the team that I'm involved with right now most of the most involved with right now most of the people on that team are project manage like project managers most of them have a background in pm and I said that they definitely can understand the technical side of things but only if I can help them to because yeah so when when I was given my first presentation like maybe eight or n months back I remember the first question that I had for everyone on the call for almost 12 numbers on the call was so hey guys how many of you have used power before and I
many of you have used power before and I just already got a couple of great PS so I was like okay now that gives me a context of how much I have to simpy how much you have to D down fa fa and yeah like if there is some other person who is having a for example you would be working on a different maybe you have to do do that for me so I have the same thing for some other person and that's how it started so I would say communication as a soft highly important uh maybe being a good listener highly important and at the very same time stay man deating your requirements and understanding your data so all of that definitely Ms we can maybe give them different things but communication as
different things but communication as your super super important business anal how did you upskill yourself specifically around our say absolutely um so I remember when I started on this job um I just had a simple course during my Master's Degree and um I definitely had like understanding of prop but no close to what I'm doing on a DayDay business right now so there was surely a learning cve invol what is some person what he learn it and then their job I would say there were multiple multiple resources involved um the first one was this website called Data that's highly that highly help me they have M with power coures and it really gives a very uh itical approach where understand you complete so they have like 8 tool
you complete so they have like 8 tool into the website and understand you complete project or something you won't be able to Pro the next one and the second thing was I am like anyone who ask me this I definitely tell them this the source which is on this on YouTube there's a guy called Alex the analyst he's very well like he's very AC on and like he such a like he was uh a data analyst and then he started his YouTube Journey um super easy to learn from him and uh highly practic that I use right now in the market so that the second resource and I'll be Ling both of those in the show note for any listen that's interested to check that out are you a prop more of somebody kind of you know laying out the foundation doing
laying out the foundation doing Foundation courses first and then trying to build stuff or would you say that sometimes it can make sense to directly start building without you know even really knowing a lot of like the foundation that's how I actually went through my entire Journey um so I I would say maybe not a extended foundational course but maybe you can do a short L learning course for couple of hours just to understand where what things are and I done that I would say just take a problem not a complex one but a basic one just like you said it could be bar chart or maybe maybe a Time analysis through a line chart like a what called tool tip something exactly exactly I love so what a multi-dimensional way to share
so what a multi-dimensional way to share information but I so yeah I said that I so I personally would recommend because when you for for example you want to develop a b and uh you have some data you you going to powerbi you build something but you are not really actually getting to the final answer that you're looking for you actually make your brain do some problem solving on it own and that is actually it it stays in your memory as compared to a YouTube video and even for data in that sense so I would highly recommend the approach that you mention that's something that I followed and that actually help me make a solid fun found going forward so yeah and like again and to go back to
so yeah and like again and to go back to your point I still feel like the advice you Shar with students is still right because they have time it sounds like me and you having to learn this stuff we didn't have that time to go and do those foundational stuff so we kind of got forced to you know jump in the deep end so to speak but um I guess yeah I just want to call that your still pretty much DS for somebody that has time such as a student so I guess kind of continuing on that visualization kind of Deep dive what according to you makes a good dashboard W that's definitely one another good question so I would I can say multiple things that yeah I I I
say multiple things that yeah I I I acknowledge that this is an incredibly layered and tough question to answer but um have that I so okay let's let's say that I had asked maybe day before yesterday there are three points that I would highly want to be emphasize in one the first one would be start with the just like us in the little bit I I personally believe that humans in general we are great storytellers for example maybe 10,000 years ago we were in we were Cas pain but we were just trying to stay a story over there but to right now we are watching some high action Hollywood movies Marv Avengers and all of that but that is the as well
and all of that but that is the as well so coming back to the dashboard I would say just talk the story time uh what is it that you are trying to explain from an influent basis and so having said that you can maybe start with the key mecs on the first page uh and then take it forward from maybe with a bar on gra or like those things when you see metric is is are you refering to what questions you're trying to answer absolutely absolutely like so like for example if I just want to see the sales in the last quarter that is a question and then we can answer it like we can basically call like a kpi so whatever kpi we can include on the first page that's how I
include on the first page that's how I basically start even just taking a step before that I always keep in mind the audience that I'm going to be uh like showing my dashboard to for example if it is for seeing a leadership say maybe senior vice president he doesn't have like a lot of time on his side so I would actually want to restrict the for to maybe three or four slides U if it is for my manager maybe seven or eight slides and just for General discussion more than that then have have whatever you want the number for that but yeah just start the story in mind of how you want to layer it of how it will progress and finally what you would want to make
and finally what you would want to make sure that your audience remembers after your dashboard has been seen to so that's the first point um the second key point that I always try to remember is basically what I briefly touched upon is the kpis or the information that we would be having I I have seen that and this was a mistake which I am also of initially I was adding everything into the but I just that's not the best approach at times too much of information can actually make your audience like okay over over I I absolutely and so it's with time that okay we can just have this many visuals on on a specific that on a specific slide and just take care from there so and third point is again I've seen this multiple times it usually to happen in
multiple times it usually to happen in college projects but I've seen that that in my work life as well uh MP team that I was involved with when I was May learning from them I just see they working General when I started I I just noticed that people were like preferring style over the content so it was like they are having like Too Many Colors a single dashboard and which is like yeah we having a fancy chart but you are not really able to grasp and you just looking at it so again it is a feeling of overwhelming as well if not too much information but through too much colors or too much styling kind of that so I would just say why do we want to complicate CH just if we can in a simple
complicate CH just if we can in a simple way so that would be my third point so anytime that I have a requirement like delegated to me this is what I this is basically what my mind goes to focus on the story focus on the information and focus on the style or the feel or look and feel of a dashboard and I feel that's that's there starting point deop a good visualization amazing that's such a helpful framework not only to conceptualize but also to remember given there's three simple bullets there um continuing on that same kind of path are you a proponent of so like I see a lot of shade against stuff like pie CHS for instance I don't know I'm sure you must have seen
I don't know I'm sure you must have seen that but there's so many blog articles saying that no matter what you do do not use pie charts at the first start like what what's the other one called called G so this so first of all when I see all of that I'm like is this just a joke like is it generally supposed to be funny or is this like actual advice so I figured I'd ask somebody that just what's your take on that type of well the way that I would answer actually depends upon the data that we are trying to see I I personally just just just to take my take on I have heard like actually seen con L po like like you
actually seen con L po like like you have to boycot P CH I'm like there are to boycot in like why would you want toy a p CH exactly it's like you discri against a chart like where have you come to as but yeah like that's that's what I as most of the time like I would say it actually really depends upon being honest your what kind of data you're dealing with for example if I'm dealing with percentages um what percentage of say of of a department is like for example I have five different departments I just want to see what percentage is given to each one I would definitely go for a five chart I wouldn't go for one give you a chart but
wouldn't go for one give you a chart but I would want to go for a line chart to sa that kind of data to that time awesome and then I guess on the other side of the spectrum what are some underrated types of visuals that you really enjoy working with that you feel like aren't used enough in you know your lineup absolutely um I would say Don charge is one which I really enjoy it um like it's definitely very similar to a p but it just um makes us feel like how the data has been sated doesn't take a lot of your screen space not not too many but at the same time tells the story so donor chart would be one which I really enjoy working with something which I find very cool is the G chart that we
find very cool is the G chart that we just spoke about you can call like like looks like a speeder or anything but that is something which I use on a dayto basis to track the kpi that I'm working with so we have a k call average cycle time which is basically how much time the end to end request took from to complete so um if the time is beyond a certain kpi so I just draw a red line on the gaug and if it is over that limit then we know we have to buckle things up and we have to do something if it is beyond if it is less than that we doing
beyond if it is less than that we doing good so I feel that is a highly useful uh visualization that we can so I guess just at the top of my mind to but um like yeah we have so many custom visuals that we can use maybe three maps at point point of very uh like very less use right now I think but I feel is again something which I I have been find found like finding very useful in my work so I just maybe those CH also yeah I have to look at exactly how dree Maps work but can you talk us through your journey of I guess clearly using all of this expertise that you've accumulated and then becoming you know top voice on
then becoming you know top voice on LinkedIn cuz I know it's like I'm not actually even sure how that works but it's really cool and I'm sure it has had its benefits so can you go over how that whole thing like how does one become a top voice 100% um so I like I personally was introduced to the top voice like just less than 6 months ago and I was like man this is just phenomenal like this new feature on L so okay just to like Dr it down what top for basically L has two different top voices the one just to like simplify just like the blue icon like the blue top voice that you
icon like the blue top voice that you see I guess that is just given Out by Linkin to highly influential people or like contributors on Linkin so I guess we don't have any like control over that we can get okay but uh the one that I was fortunate to get is basically a communicate to voice I work for data visualization and how can get that the the answer to that would be I feel I was like invited by L to answer specific data visualization related questions and I don't think this is like lot like the entry barrier is a lot I feel most of us who are active on or are like putting our for around dat visualization or this kind of like
visualization or this kind of like skills like eventually invite you to answer Community questions based on that and once we keep answering those questions you have a rank like okay this is how much you are trending based on all of the people who are answering those questions and like so people get the chance to go and like your contribution is people that to comment on them people if they finding it useful you would be up voted and I feel if you are like top 5% or top 3% depending on what the skill is then then will then give you and Toge um so that's how you get it basically how it just being useful like it has been like truly like phenomenal in my L journey I always wanted to have a presence on L
always wanted to have a presence on L but um I tried it before it was very horrible but I was going back there but um um the do gave me like a credibility that okay you can me follow this person he has good views on this and when I started that when I started some tring because of that I I then faved my Approach on where I was just basically previously posting things that were important to me while this time I was actually posting things that were important or valuable for the people just like how these spoke about how can I the job s or the skills required for business analyst or what my day looks like so that's what I started posting and people started that people found like it valuable and like actually more than the gratification on on on social
than the gratification on on on social media like actually really helps me a smile on my face I am actually making so much better some just having going going through bad time maybe they find it inspirational or uh they want to achieve something in the future so it's super gratifying in that sense um but yeah that's how I got the talk was how I navigated that then the content that eventually followed it has been phomen I'm super grateful for that that's awesome I guess my favorite thing about what we just La out is that it's not just you know kind of like buying a verification badge on like Instagram where you sp money on get you like this the community needs to have you know
the community needs to have you know back somebody that gets that so you know like yeah you can trust somebody that has a top voice around various topic which is really relevant actually but the fact that they have that means that they didn't just like throw money at it and they were actually you know chosen in a way almost so that's really helpful yeah I have no idea how any of that work but that's super awesome um so you you think the last question I had for you was in like you know with Gen now BEC a thing and co-pilot being tell me about yeah coupled into all really Microsoft products powerbi included how do you see say somebody is you know graduating from a Masters in Business manalytics Degree 6 months from now they
manalytics Degree 6 months from now they have those 6 months to potentially and like there's only so many hours in a day so you can either do things that we've been doing forever or you can start doing co-pilot specific or gen AI specific skills around powerbi or really just any business analyst ored positions yes to kind of set yourself apart so first two-part question first is is that something that you would recommend the student or professional looking to break into um analyst roles like should they be looking at that type of stuff and second part is if so what would be the you know best ways or any guard rails that we can suggest around them trying to do this because um a lot of times it
to do this because um a lot of times it just happens that if you're having AI do everything you're not learning yourself anything like you have no idea how actually to try to measure or to write tax code to do a certain thing because wrote that for you so how do you how this one go about balancing the two if at all those are things that need to be balanced I would absolutely would want to answer this question okay uh just just before I can even do that u i just say uh how I approach this uh it's not just thinking maybe one or two years down the line by keeping the next 10 15 or even 50 years for that matter so it's
or even 50 years for that matter so it's eventually like just we all know that is going to be taking over and they going to be ring over us and going to be the but I'm just kidding about that but in like a very fair context I do feel like AI can be highly useful it just depends upon how we approach that equation so I would I would just say don't sh away from it if if you are hearing all of these talks about AI it is definitely a tool that you can use to make your work better I'm I'm a huge believer of that and I don't think that it's going to be taking away everyone's job that just actually will be helping us make our
actually will be helping us make our jobs even more easier and even more efficient for that matter U so that's that's like in general what I think about that now just coming to both of those questions I would say definitely have emphasis on that that have keep it in mind um I personally feel that it's like almost too early like almost at that stage like it is going to be like used everywhere but I feel just to give a timeline on that might take maybe three or four more years for that happen but having said that yeah at least if we can start early that adoption we would obviously have the Lage going forward so um just coming to my work as a business hand in general who working with powerbi powerbi has launched the powerbi coil it um I did not have a chance to implement it like
not have a chance to implement it like but definitely got a chance to learn about it so our organization as a whole it is highly like just emphasizing on automation anding a and like because that's the future so I would highly recommend like if anyone is starting in this speed learo power what I have learned about so far this super this super fun so cool to use what I doing what my manager is asking me to do so I want this I canly type it is basically like process natural language and you can gu it it will come up with the entire dashboard for you have said that it is not going to be the most perfect or you probably have to you have to that
or you probably have to you have to that first Fair it just like a for very very very on point with that and I said that you can just like then use that first dra it is if given it ising 50% of your final you are ding all the me anding the graph you already have it in front of you and then you can take from there then the machine the next part then we can come we can take it so I guess that's one feature that we can use the second one I was so was realizing that this is happening with Google as but all WhatsApp or all of these platform for like like a CV if you can say but also has a g where the it will
has a g where the it will actually understand the your visualization style and then give you recommendations cool yeah and so the thing that you are about to be doing you already have in front of you so that's again highly efficient it just helping us go ahead in probably stuff around formatting as well like we waste so much time with brand colors and such exactly it would probably already be out of the box so that's actually pretty cool yeah I guess what you're laying out the quote that brings that it brings to my mind is your job or you will not be replaced by AI but probably by somebody that uses AI you know I don't know I still have mixed feelings about the the you know how
feelings about the the you know how generalizable it makes it sound it's probably not to that extent but I do think at least the part of that is um you know probably true so yeah but I guess yeah everything else that you said makes total sense um yeah those are really all the questions I have so um thank you so much for taking the time today um I just want to call out one thing that I noticed through our conversation it sounded like most people I talk to myself included not to say talk to myself but in terms of you know when you talk look at the future future or when you think about the future most people are just like you know this year or next month or whatever something that stuck
month or whatever something that stuck out to me about you was you always made it a point to be looking or thinking 5 10 years into the future I think that's pretty incredible because again mostly because I've never heard anybody do that but also because the more I think about it it feels like such a smart way to be thinking about things in general you know because like yeah so often we're engross in like the micro the the the Micron of time it's not a word but I'm going to stick with it that we forget you know the big picture and the loose sight of what a decision that we take will do for us 10 years later because we're so laser focus
years later because we're so laser focus on the one year absolutely and often those are very different things so I just wanted to call that out I think that's really cool and yeah I I hope you continue to you know make such a positive difference that you have been doing on LinkedIn being open to conversation such as these if if I to end up this but if I can just say that I I don't know this happen on the podcast before but I would actually want to take just one question for on the officite and because I think that could be again highly useful for that's awesome excited um before we started the forast we just had a very short conversation about um your interest in podcasting and um like just things in general so the question for n over here would be if we
question for n over here would be if we can just L out for your for your viewers how did that interest build in and what were the skills that you developed through that journey through this conversation that we having right now and if someone for us to actually get into podcasting or maybe just life in general what are the skills that you picked up would be beneficial for them to maybe start their Journey on their own I love that yeah how the how the table turn like yes and also kind of getting a flavor of how the my guests feel when I drop three the same time so I appreciate all of that um yeah so like happy to talk about that I guess um what prompted this riew was basically a longterm obsession
riew was basically a longterm obsession with YouTube I just spend ungodly amounts time on YouTube just looking at honestly it's embarrassing to talk about what have you ever seen those like video essays about stuff like it'll be about random games that I have played in high school that they'll be just going into extremely detailed discussions around characters why they were doing things but and like all TV shows break breaking yeah exact to me just like I would any day watch that over whatever trending Netflix show there at any given point of Time Forever likees over the past five years pretty much so it's always that idea of you know switching from consumer to Creator really is the backbone of like my biggest motivation around this and specifically the St that broke the canas back was I have I look I
broke the canas back was I have I look I follow a Creator it's called Leon Lush MH just like some random commentary guy yeah but he put out a video talking about how the world would undergo zero change if you which is somebody that is on the fence of being a Creator finally becomes a Creator right he was like literally nobody cares the only person that benefits is you and potentially people that you're trying to you know help it's called the spotlight effect we all go through this we always feel like there's a giant Spotlight on us that's you know taking not of for every move that's just not true nobody literally cares like since I've started now to your other points like I'm 11 episodes and as of this day of recording episode 12 will drater today right still have a lot of work all that but honestly the things I've
that but honestly the things I've learned is the biggest by far is really just um like managing my time as like my schedule because obviously I have a full-time job this is not something I do fulltime so it's been really challenging but in a fun way to do all of the things that I was doing before April this year that's when the podcast started right still continuing to do those and on top of that also be doing stuff around you know the podcast so that's the biggest thing and the second would be the creativity aspect of it I have sunk an unoted number of hours in designing just thumbnails for YouTube and I will continue to do more of that because I just love it it's just there's just that feeling of when it clicks when you know
feeling of when it clicks when you know you have a good thumbnail and again I do not have good thumbnails I want to call that out I've seen a few good ones I would that would be honest please yeah so but I guess what I'm getting at is even when I'm done like when I feel good it's because I reached the limit of my skill barer it's not because of that like oh that's probably fine I'm going to go with that I'm doing the absolute best that I can at any given point while I guess also trying to upskill myself same applies for like the video thing Etc blah blah go on but really the effects have I've just been blown away by how
I've just been blown away by how positively this whole thing has affected my life and I'm not even refering to the like YouTube having 120 subscribers on YouTube it's irrelevant really is what it B like the real good benefits have come outside of that in like my daily life so but just the process of like you are different like seeing a different change throughout your life yeah yeah exact because that's the thing like it makes a discipline now I do not have a choice but to be up at six every wow like I it's not up I don't get to decide I have to be like I chose it that's
I have to be like I chose it that's fantastic and like yeah again to like the one metric I had for Success cuz I was like what is my metric for success I would recommend anybody than to also have that my metri for success is not missing an that's I don't care if two people watch it that's fine my failure pet as if there is no upload on that's failure I love that so and you know but yeah it cuts both ways cuz good either way if I uplo I good that's all I'm optimizing for that's all I'm solving for everything else is a bonus right so really good question I've honestly never you know had the chance to talk about
you know had the chance to talk about this but hopefully this isn't to much of a tangent and it it remains to be seen how much of this I will leave in versus cut really really appreciate you being so you know enthusiastic about this and I was sharing this with you over but normally when I reach out to somebody then I have like my Cod DM prepared and whatnot and with you it was literally like you were actually interested it wasn't something I had to run after you for you were just like this is cool I like it let's do it absolutely and I just think that's so commended yeah thank you so much I just had like the
thank you so much I just had like the best time over here and yeah I hope that my biggest when this is like you meting a new friend and this is obviously the entire experience of I work learn so much from you but even more than that my biggest wi would be that people find this useful even if just a few people even if one person can actually benefit from this that would make my day or my month in general but yeah I just hope this was this and whoever is watching this you got this just keep going thank you so much that brings us to the end of episode 15 of the ready said do podcast thank you for sharing these conversations with those that continue to benefit benef from them if you
